I was on a long journey to survive cancer. Read about it here.

Now I'm on a cooking journey to make healthy, quick and delicious food.

Can Omega 3 oils shrink tumors?

WARNING!!! IF YOU ARE ON ACTIVE IMMUNOTHERAPY, YOU SHOULD BE WARNED THAT HIGH DOSES OF FISH OIL MAY COUNTERACT IMMUNOTHERAPY. THIS IS DUE TO ITS STRONG ANTI-INFLAMMATORY EFFECT.

GcMAF

DCA

There's a phase I clinical trial going on for a cheap, non-patentable compound called DCA (Dichloroacetic acid). It's easily administered (orally). The underlying mode of action is it seems to re-initiate apoptotic behavior in cancer cells, causing them to die.

Light Induced Enhanced Selective Hyperthermia (LIESH)

I came across this AMAZING claim of a "local" cancer cure. If it really does work, it's simply brilliant. It seems too simple to be true.

Leukocyte InFusion Therapy Begins Clinical Trial

Cancer strategies that focus on boosting the immune system are very attractive. Conventional chemotherapy that destroys the immune system and leaves the person vulnerable to cancers regrowing when chemo is done. Even worse, if chemo fails to destroy cancer cells, the person is left in a worse situation because his or her immune system is severely weakened. This may accelerate the cancer growth significantly. Hence, it makes a lot of sense to focus on boosting the immune system as an alternate strategy.

Reolysin

A fellow Synovial Sarcoma caregiver told me about Reolysin. It's a pretty interesting drug. It's a live virus that doesn't do a lot of harm to normal cells. The basic idea is that cancer cells are deficient in their ability to combat this virus, whereas normal cells are not. Thus, the virus multiplies rapidly in cancer cells, eventually killing them. The good thing about it is it claims to have very little side effects.

The importance of oxygen

Introduction

Solid tumors are often hypoxic, meaning that they lack oxygen. Hypoxia may also be present in small tumors and microscopic tumors. Why is hypoxia important? It's important because it is well known that conventional therapies such as radiation and chemotherapy work well in the presence of Oxygen. This applies for alternative treatments such as IVAA (intravenous ascorbic acid) which relies on the presence of O2 for the generation of tumor-toxic Hydrogen Peroxide.

Hyperthermia enhances radiation and chemotherapy

Hyperthermia used to be a hot area of research. However, it fell out of favor when clinical trials came out inconclusive. Recently, it's beginning to enjoy a resurgence due to new data. Duke University is the biggest hyperthermia research center in the US. Hyperthermia has been used in Europe for some time though.

Femarelle for premature menopause

I came across an interesting product called Femarelle while browsing Google videos posted by Dr. Garry Gordon. I can't find the video right now but it was extremely technical with scientists showing how it helped with menopausal symptoms in murine models. I googled it and found the that it's a common over the counter supplement that you can even buy from Amazon.

Skin cancer cure?

I was watching a video recording of a Q&A session at the Advanced Detoxification And Gene Based Medicine Conference (day 1). Dr. Gordon talks about a remarkable skin cancer "cure" that's available in Australia. It's called Curaderm.
